Pick Me Up Pictures is a Film and Television production company led by Matthew Nevin focusing on creative and innovative storytelling. An award winning company that develops and produces Film, Television and online content that speaks directly to an engaged audience. We produce a diverse slate of contemporary stories, social documentary, smart comedy, alongside artistic and experimental content.
Our latest productions Today’s Date & You Ask Him, two short films have just completed post production and are currently due to screen 2023/2024 across several international film festivals. The foundations for Pick Me Up Pictures began with the production of the experimental Film The Gypsy Soul Disco {Dir. Nicky Larkin}, followed by the short film BRIANNA. More recent projects include the short films MAGGIE and 180 Degrees {Dir. Jenn McGuirk}, the online series Culture Chats and the award winning feature length documentary What Is Going To Happen Next?. Pick Me Up Pictures is currently developing both a drama and comedy series for television, a feature length documentary for theatrical release and will release new episodes of Culture Chat’s soon!

Matthew Nevin is an award winning multi-disciplinary creative professional who works across three organizations as a Writer, Director, Producer, Curator, and Cultural Producer, bringing over 20 years of experience in film, television, and the arts throughout the US, Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
At Pick Me Up Pictures, he manages a diverse slate of film, TV, and online content—championing creative, innovative storytelling with a contemporary edge. He is currently co-writing and developing the Screen Ireland–supported TV comedy-drama series Silver Springs, and has recently written, produced, and directed several short films including Today’s Date, You Ask Him, and Maggie, all of which toured various film festivals. His online series Culture Chats was featured on RTÉ Entertainment, and he produced and directed the award-winning feature documentary What Is Going to Happen Next?, which screened and garnered awards at over 20 international film festivals.
As Co-Director of The MART Gallery & Studios in Dublin, Matthew oversees more than 100 artist studios and a contemporary art gallery, curating exhibitions and cultural programming that foster artistic growth. Under MART, he has produced and curated over 60 exhibitions internationally, including large-scale creative projects in Ireland, the UK, Europe, the USA, and Japan. As an artist himself, he has exhibited his work globally and received commissions from brands like Ralph Lauren.
In his role as Executive Director of the non-profit CIACLA – the Contemporary Irish Arts Center Los Angeles, he produces contemporary Irish cultural events and exhibitions in California and serves as Festival Director of the Irish Film Festival Los Angeles, showcasing Irish art, performance, film, and culture, and strengthening creative ties between Ireland and LA.
Beyond producing and curating, Matthew has extensive experience as an Art Director and Designer for film and TV, working on productions such as Luther, EastEnders, The Bill, and The Amazing Race, with major industry partners including CBS, BBC, ITV, Element Pictures, RTÉ, TG4, and MTV.
He holds a BA in Film, TV & Scenography from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and an MA in Art in the Contemporary World from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin. His work has secured funding from various Irish and US local and federal grant agencies, including Screen Ireland, Culture Ireland, Arts Council of Ireland, IFA Germany, Alliance Francaise, Dept of Foreign Affairs Ireland, Creative Ireland, California Arts Council, LA County Arts & Culture and many more. Matthew is a passionate advocate for the arts, using his projects to foster dialogue on key global issues and emphasizing social and economic accessibility to ensure diverse voices are heard.

Sarah Nevin, a published poet from Ireland, made her mark with her debut collection, “Three Seats Free.” Her poetry, focused on themes of hope and courage, has resonated widely. In 2024, she expanded her creative writing by completing a Certificate in Writing Television Drama at IADT. Sarah is currently working with Pick Me Up Pictures as the co-creator and writer of the upcoming series “Silver Springs,”. She aims to continue to captivate audiences with her authentic storytelling and relatable insight into the human experience.

Katriona Woods is an emerging producer based in the west of Ireland, with a strong focus on compelling storytelling across film and television she has produced the award winning feature film What Is Going To Happen Next? and recent successful short films Today’s Date and You Ask Him. Building on her background in education, she leverages her producing skills to create projects that both inform and challenge audiences. Katriona is passionate about amplifying diverse voices and unique perspectives, ensuring her projects resonate with audiences worldwide.
